When it comes to adopting energy-saving measures to reduce your power bills, it can be hard to know where to start. For South Australian small and family businesses, support is available through the Small Business Sustainability Program.

How to access support

The Small Business Sustainability Support Program is designed to give you the tools and knowledge to adapt, grow and succeed in a net zero future.

You can access support in three steps:

Step 1 - Sign up to a free workshop

Sign up to a free three-hour workshop in your region to boost your understanding of sustainability and discover quick win opportunities to reduce energy costs in your business.

By attending a free sustainability workshop, you can gain insights on:

Energy efficiency and renewable energy
Analysing your energy bills
What is driving the uptake of sustainability in business
Energy saving opportunities for your business
Food and waste recycling
Engaging your supply chain and customers, and more.

The next workshop will be held in Mount Barker on Friday, 23 August 2024. Register your spot or stay up to date with upcoming Sustainability Workshops around South Australia as they are announced.

Step 2: Get personalised advice through a 1-1 consultation

Once you have completed the workshop, businesses can get personalised advice, strategies and solutions specific to your business needs.

These consultations will help your business:

Identify where you are now with your sustainability practices, and
Implement emission reduction strategies to create new opportunities or mitigate sustainability risks.

Step 3: Get a business sustainability assessment

Eligible businesses have the opportunity to access a Business Sustainability Assessment at a subsidised cost of $500 (ex GST).

The assessment will help you develop actions to reduce carbon emissions and outline return on investment for your business.
